General Information

SAT refers to the Scholastic Assessment Test. It is a standardized test for the admission in U.S. colleges. A non-profit organization of United States, well-known as the College Board has published and developed the SAT exam. Also, the College Board owns the SAT but it is administered by the Educational Testing Service (ETS).
SAT focuses on the reading, writing, or mathematics skills of a student. The SAT exam consists of four sections that are mentioned below:

• Critical Reading: This section involves reading passages and completing sentences. The test-takers have to finish this section in 70 minutes as it has three sub-sections with two sub-sections of 25 minutes and one sub-section of 20 minutes.
• Writing: This section comprises of multiple choice questions that are based on finding errors, and grammar improvisation. Candidates have 60 minutes in total for the writing section.
• Mathematics: This section comprises of questions based on algebra, statistics, arithmetic operations, probability and geometry. Students have provided 70 minutes for Mathematics section.
• Variable: This section may include questions from the critical reading section, writing section, or mathematics section. It is used to try new questions. The scores of variable section do not include in the final scores. There are 25 minutes allocated to this section.

Therefore, test-takers have the total time-limit of 3 hours and 45 minutes to complete their test.

Upcoming Dates For SAT

SAT is a paper-based test and it can be taken seven times in a year. It has fixed dates and the dates cannot be changed on demand.
For taking the SAT exam, you need to register yourself for the test. You can register through web, or mail. You can select any date from the list below after completing the registration process.

Checklist Before Exam

• If your exam is in the morning session, put an alarm on the clock or cell phone to wake up early and arrive at your test center on time. However, in case of the afternoon session, sleeping for late hours is not a problem as there is a lot of time to get ready.
